7. Naked As We Came: Our Endless Numbered Days: Iron and Wine

There is a scene in the movie Up where a montage of scenes progresses to tell the story of the main character, Carl Fredericksen, and his  marriage. It is truly a great cinematic moment. This song is a sonic parallel to that sequence. Love never fails it is said. Naked As We Came tells us of the beauty and glory of faithful love that is only completed in death. Death, in some ways purifies and perfects love. To what extent are you willing to go for love? Are you willing to go to death, even if it is a slow, at times monotonous process? Death draws out love’s greatest quality – constancy – and that is why love conquers death.
